  • An Invitation to My Studio

    An Invitation to My Studio

Fall is the best time of year for me.

The desert finally cools & we open up our homes, purge and clean, plant our winter gardens, & fill our calendar with commitments with family and friends. The fresh air invigorates and the falling leaves remind us to let things go.

It feels great to reconnect after our Covid adjustments. I’ve gotten into a new work out habit and combined with regular painting, I am feeling great. I will be leading live classes in the Spring.

    Sedona Magic

With all the painting I’m doing, I’m up to my eyeballs in paintings, so I’ve decided to host an open studio art sale with deep discounts on my paintings. It’s a way to thank you for reading my newsletters. I think some of them are real keepers and I hope you will too.

    Saturday, November 20th,
    1-5 PM.

Wonderful prices on both framed and unframed paintings, hand drawn earrings, and note cards.

    3710 E Desert Cove, Phx, AZ 85028
Near Shea Blvd and Hwy 51.

Come by and say hi and see my creative space. I’ll have some snacks & surprises.

You may have friends that would love to get original art for a gift and I have too many paintings. It’s a win/win!

  • A wonderful testimonial . . .

Seventeen years ago my family and I vacationed in Scottsdale, at the Desert Ridge Marriott. Linda was giving a workshop and I decided to take it. We had a choice of what we wanted to paint, I chose flowers. The results produced this artwork. I then had it framed and was and still am very proud of my work. At that time I bought a dvd from Linda and of course never had time to use it, but very often my mind would drift away into the happiness I felt through painting.

In 2020 we decided to relocate to Scottsdale from Illinois and I had to liquidate and pack a 6,000 sf. house in two weeks. I was stressed out to high heavens. Low and behold I found the dvd and Linda’s business card at the time I needed it most. I dropped everything and called Linda and after 17 years, she still had the same number and answered the phone with that same comforting and caring tone. Needless to say, she remembered me, calmed me down and we reconnected. I immediately signed up for her Sedona Retreat. Through those 17 years I searched for the instructions on how to make the special wet into wet borders you see on my paintings. I also was fascinated by Linda’s technique of creating water drops on flower petals. I could never find or remember the steps to do this without the dvd.

Linda has special skills and techniques of working with watercolors, oils and various media that I have never seen anyone else do. She also encourages you to think out of the box & paint and not be afraid of experimenting and exploring.

Now I live in Scottsdale and participate in Linda’s workshops as much as time allows.  I love that she offers this course online. They are wonderful moments in time that work wonders for your inner self.  Eva S.

  • Easy Abstract Design

    New Online Art Course

    Why is Design so Important?

You want to hold your viewers attention. All great paintings have one thing in common, good design. This is the difference between an OK painting and an award winner. If you are new to art, you may not know the importance of a great composition. This course will change that as we learn simple ways to create exciting abstract paintings with solid design principles. The wonderful thing is that this course makes it super easy and fun.

We all love paintings that are a bit abstract so we can use our imaginations to further define the subject or idea.

However, even abstract paintings need to have good composition to hold your attention or they fall flat. You can master lots of exciting techniques in all media but they still need good design to be successful.
