Deer Creek Falls

This was inspired on a rafting trip in the Grand Canyon. We stopped at this famous waterfall on May 5, 2019 and it was simply a magical experience. I got to splash in it which I happily did even though the water was freezing. You could see a faint rainbow in the splashing water. Truly an experience I will never forget. I took photos and did a quick thumbnail sketch in ink wash. Back in the studio I created this painting using my sketch and several photos as reference. It is painted with professional oil paints on a Linen Panel.
