I always love this time right before the new year, a time to review what worked and what didn’t in the past year and make a fresh, clean start. Time to figure out classes to teach, retreats to lead, and workshops to take. Which competitions are worth entering, where would I really love to show? Where can I actually show? Who might wish to buy my art, who would love to host a paint party or have a team building event? How can I spend most of my time doing what I love(painting and inspiring others to create), make a living, and still have time for family? How can I best give back to my community while continuing to grow as an artist? Am I being the best human I can be?
What helps me and what hurts me? Who lifts me up and supports me, and who always lets me down? What do I need more of, less of? What is my number one goal, and what are the small steps I can take to make it happen? I’m sure many of you, like me, enjoy this sacred time of incredible possibilities.

I’m having so much fun sketching and painting quail. First a couple watercolor sketches followed by pencil sketches. Then I started painting in oil on wood and now these sweet charcoals. Feeling so inspired!
